First off...I mispelled his name. Its John Heilemann. John Arthur Heilemann is an American journalist and national affairs analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. With Mark Halperin, he co-authored Game Change and Double Down, books about presidential campaigning. Heilemann has formerly been a staff writer for New York, Wired, and The Economist. Wikipedia

That said, Bill Maher's right about one thing...the sh tlibs, deep state, etc. didn't try to grab it "all at once"...for 70+ years they've done it piece-meal...slowly taking over the institutions of gov./finance/academia...

...a complete revolution...without firing a shot.
