There was a time in my life when I thought handguns should be banned.
I remember once, during church, a police officer (a fellow parishioner) attended mass in full uniform walking up to Communion, wearing his handgun, of course, and I was so angry at him thinking “ Why didn’t he leave that thing in his car”.

I was a lot younger and stupider back then, but I came around…
