First they make the people miserable. They they pretend to offer a solution - vote the statists into power. When they get their power you’ll still be hungry but you’ll have lost most of your freedoms.

“British farmers were struggling with higher energy costs”
Welcome to your Brave New Energy World. Why don’t they just install some more windmills and solar cells? Everybody knows they are cheaper than coal and nuclear AND a lot more reliable, to boot.

“Britain’s biggest supermarket chain, Tesco, has limited purchases of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers to three items per customer”
Limiting purchases is about stupid.....all you have to do is buy, put your purchases in your car, go back in and rinse and repeat.
When ammo purchases were limited I took my wife to academy sports and both of us did that very thing until I got all the ammo I needed......I guarantee I wasn’t the only one doing it.

Well at least they won’t have to worry about being attacked with fresh fruit.
Now, they just have to worry about pointed sticks.

With elevated costs and short supply of energy, it will always be something.
