We had breakfast together this morning, so I had an opportunity to tell several brothers from church how grateful I am that I finally saw my doctor, after intentionally avoiding him for three years because of COVID. After a Christmas visit to the local emergency room for an incessant cough from bronchitis, the E.R. doc told me to follow up with my personal doctor. I sighed, deeply.
Then I immediately began rehearsing my talking points about COVID, the vaccine, and the COVID medical establishment that has run — and ruined — everything for three years.
But my personal doctor had to cancel two appointments with me in the past month because he was ill. So the first thing I asked him when we finally got together last week was whether he was OK. He said yeah. He said he had had COVID but recovered.
My doctor said he was vaccinated before catching COVID.
He asked me whether I have had COVID. "No." Then he asked me if I had been vaccinated. "No." Then he asked me if I wanted to be vaccinated. I said, "Don't get me started." He said he wouldn't.
He also said he hadn't wanted to be vaccinated, "but they made me."
I explained to the guys at breakfast this morning that I had avoided my doctor to avoid arguing with him about COVID. He's a good doctor, and my wife and I like him and didn't want to anger him.
One of my buddies at breakfast was flabbergasted. "Since when do you worry about angering anybody?"
I sheepishly answered to this effect: "When somebody potentially can determine matters of life and death for me." Nods all around the table followed.
I was pretty certain my doctor, bless his heart, would try to coerce me

“When somebody potentially can determine matters of life and death for me.”
I even carry that idea over to waiters and politicians and others. Waiters can/do mess with food. Politicians can retaliate in other ways.
XD
Yes, that was embarrassing. Thanks for getting me straight.
I retired from Los Angeles Unified School District in June of 2020. Had I stayed, they'd have given me the option to get vaccinated or get out. They lost one of their best teachers (not me, the Engineering teacher) because he flatly refused.
“…spared losing my respect for him, “
You mean when he, a scientist, a medical man said “But they made me” THAT didn’t drain the respect right then and there?
The doctor I had gone to for several years retired a year or two ago. (He was a low-key country doctor type who we think probably retired rather than forced to play along with Covidiocy)
I went to see his replacement and was thoroughly unimpressed.
She walked in the room and said “Thanks for making me your new primary care physician.”
“I haven’t done that yet.” because I had some questions first. As soon as I mentioned therapeutic treatment, I got shut down halfway through the word Ivermectin.
Decision made.
It took some searching but I found a medical practice that’s independent of the big establishment. I had a great conversation recently with the PA all about how she distrusted anything the CDC says.
And they don’t wear useless masks.
Kudos!
If you found a good doctor, you are one of the lucky ones.
Good for you!
And we lost some of our best in the military because they refused the vaccine. After a lifetime of service.
My entire family is vaxxed and boosted, including my little grandkids. They wouldn’t listen to me because I was “crazy” and “selfish.” One set of grandkids has been sick 13 times in the last year, since getting the Covid AND flu vaccines.
Several totally boosted friends now have cancer. I wake up every morning wondering if today is the day I will hear someone I love has collapsed or has turbo cancer.
Cops escort doctor from hospital board meeting after he testified “Ivermectin” is successful Covid treatment…
If you found a good doctor willing to suffer this, you are truly lucky. Find one!
“wait the mandate 55 year trade secret protection delay and see them yourself in 2076.”
Yup—if I like what I see in 2076 then I will consider getting a jab.
Until then—no chance!
(I have zero interest in the opinions of “experts”—most of them are Big Pharma whores.)
“selfish”
Ayn Rand used to write about this a lot.
When someone calls you “selfish” what they are really saying is they want to be your master and they want you to be their obedient slave.
These folks are your enemies—now you know.

Excellent recommendation. My husband and children could never be my enemies, but they ARE fools. Fools I still love, but can never completely trust again.
I would encourage you to read Ayn Rand if you have not done so.
I wish they were fools—I know you do as well.
But—they showed their hand.
I get it that you are very uncomfortable looking at it.
My wife and I disagree on things from time to time—everyone does.
But—I would never call her “selfish” for wanting to do something her way—because every human being has a right to believe what they wish and act on those beliefs.
Calling her “selfish” would be claiming she is sub-human and my slave.
"I explained to the guys at breakfast this morning that I had avoided my doctor the person who advocates a freedom-killing mandate to avoid arguing with him about COVID a man-made virus engineered to kill people and their freedoms."
This appeaser deserves a full measure of the consequences of that poor choice.
