But here's a reader comment: "Volkswagen Car-Net would not track the car while the 2 year old was still in it without a re-activation fee. I won't ever own a VW as a result. Unbelievably convenient for them to leave that out."
And here's a different reader responding to that comment: "Agreed. It’s part of the official statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office but it’s not surprising on the part of VW. The people who answer those calls are NOT allowed to make judgment calls. “Follow the script” has been writ in corporate stone for decades now, removing independent thought, and if the script says no tracing without payment then that’s what will happen, especially given the fact that it’s almost invariably an overseas call center in a country where independent thought isn’t nurtured in the first place."

I think it is criminal to withhold identifying information for the sake of trying to appease the agitators for our afro-centric society. There isn’t any way in the world this woman does not know the ethnicity of her attacker.

It appears to be a pretty nice uncongested area, judging only by the map, 30 miles north of the center of Chicago and about 5-8 miles west of Lake Michigan, but near a small lake. Maybe one of her kids had to pee or was throwing up, so she took that one in and went back for the other. Horrible crime. Hope there were ring cameras around there.
So glad we normalized the wearing of medically-useless face masks.
