Ever since Rush passed on, I have hardly listened to the radio like I used to.
We get Dan Bongino in Rush’s old timeslot, but his New Yorker accent is irritating to me. We get Ben Shapiro in the evenings and his accent is even worse, and he talks so damn fast in staccato fashion it takes me several seconds to decipher what he’s saying.
There will never be another Rush in my lifetime, I’m afraid............
The good thing about Rush was that he wasn’t all politics/negativity/anger all the time. He would get you fired up and then change gears to something light hearted. While I mostly agree with the new people, I can’t handle hours of negative/anger. I find myself listing only to the topics intro and the turning it off after 2 or 3 segments.
It seems like he has been gone a decade. Dark years indeed.

Ditto. I “listen fast” (I typically put YT videos on at least 1.25 speed) but I have a difficult time figuring out what Shapiro is saying. I’d be surprised if even half his listeners comprehend the bulk of what he’s saying.
I like Beck (who is also a radio guy as opposed to a guy who came from something else.) I like Levin. Dennis Prager always has something interesting to say. Rob Carson is fun.
Hannity is an echo, and his habit of double-subject sentences drives this old English major up a wall.
No one is Rush, but there are some good talents out there if you care to listen. And we have to keep carrying the torch.
