13-year-old brought knife from home: 'I wanted to stab a soldier'

The findings of the investigation into the terrorist attack at the Shuafat checkpoint in which Staff Sgt. Asil Sawaed was murdered yesterday (Monday) were released Tuesday evening.

According to the investigation, Sgt. Sawaed boarded a bus at the checkpoint together with a civilian security guard to check the identity cards of the passengers. The attacker, a 13-year-old boy, was sitting at the back of the bus when he suddenly stood up and stabbed Sawaed in the head.

The security guard drew his weapon and fired one shot, which struck Sawaed in an artery in his thigh, Kan News reported.

Security has been increased at the Shuafat checkpoint following the murder of IDF Sergeant Noa Lazar by a terrorist at the site last October. As part of the new procedures, it was decided that young adults would be required to exit buses during inspections, while children, pregnant women, and elderly people would be allowed to remain on the buses.

The terrorist in yesterday's attack was allowed to remain on the bus during the inspection because he is a 13-year-old boy. In light of the attack, the security echelon will conduct a situational assessment which may result in new procedures.

According to a source involved in the incident, the security guard was distraught after realizing that he had accidentally shot Sgt. Sawaed and even threatened to harm himself. The two were friends who had known each other from the Bedouin village of Hussniyya in the Galilee.

Eh. Every Leftist in this country has a kid like that now.

Well, maybe not. The Lefties have scrubbed so many true American military personnel out of the armed forces that they might not want to commit fratricide on their buddies who are eating it from the inside out now.

Nah. Stabbing is toxic masculinity. They might suicide bomb, or milkshake a soldier. But knives, it’s like, ewwwww. They’re transitioning in order to get away from this culture of sticking something long and pointy into someone./parody;-)

Rattlesnakes give you a warning. This kid was more like a viper.

Femoral arteries are huge, right off of the aorta.

Which is why I never understood the “Should have shot him in the leg” idea. Shooting someone in the leg is as likely to kill him as shooting him in the chest.

Yeah, I cringed when I read about the artery hit. That’s always trouble. 22 years old...sheesh. Too bad the security guard’s shot didn’t take out the 13 year old.

Arteries are set up so that a deep injury to the leg of a fleeing man or someone with their back turned is liable to get that artery, so it’s safer to face a man with a gun or knife than to run. This proves that G-d favors bravery. Poor fellow probably had his back to his best friend, and the poor fool panicked at the unnatural situation of a kid stabbing someone, and failed to plug the little bass turd right between the eyes as he should have, a wild shot and a terrible tragedy.
