I finally saw a video clip on the morning news today & I could see how this car looked so out of place.
although the entire scene had cloud cover, the “orange” car was definitely on the other side of the tracks from the “white topped” cars.
what I can’t figure out is how could this car have been disconnected from the couplers and landed across the tracks?
it doesn’t make sense to me now as a natural result of the derailment.
NS likely pushed it over months ago in order to keep the line open.
I suspect it wasn’t part of this train.
