We sat on bleachers to watch the christening of the
USS Bainbridge (DDG-96) in November of 2005.
The wind was blasting off the Kennebec River that day.
It was FRIGID!
Inside, after the ceremony, they had hugs vats of clam chowder, and we all descended on that as would crows on to carrion!
LOL
They weren’t serving anything - we had vending machines - I think the AF needs to step it up a bit lol!
Clam chowder - yum!
