I don’t get the problem with shooting it down since as is transverses across the country it will surely at different points be over areas where there are miles and miles of nothing but brush and bunnies.
I hypothesize that the problem is displeasing our Sino- masters... Even the Taliban would likely shoot it down.
Okay, let’s put 2 and 2 together and see what we get.
1a: The balloon is going across the country.
2a: It could end up going over D.C. if an act of God
causes the wind to take it that way. It is somewhat
close anyway.
1b: We can’t shoot it down because it will endanger people
on the ground.
2b: It could theoretically be shot down by someone on the
ground with something (large caliber rifle, some sort
missile they got a hold of somehow, crossbow, etc.) if
it gets low enough.
= Someone should shoot it down if it flies low over D.C.
