Impact force: Not to digress——oh, why not? Impact force is what I used to lay on ball carriers and their blocker friends. Usually with a forearm shiver or handy equivalent. Never , ever, took a slide rule to a ball game. The “rate of change of momentum” happened when the velocity of the ball carrier dropped to zero, sometimes accompanied by grass in the ear hole. Physics formulas totally disregarded.
