The Spirit of Prophecy is subject to the prophets.
Please supply which translation you are using for that verse?

Oops, looks like I got in a bit of a hurry. "The Spirit of the Prophets is subject to the prophets." My meaning is the latter; the prophet delivers the message as they perceive it. We trust the messenger to convey the true message.
I am always a bit uncomfortable when the prophet interprets their own message as it may limit the perception of the receiver of the message. That was somewhat implied in my example. The Spirit of Prophecy is the Angel of prophecy: BRANCheS - (Hebrew: bara nachash = 'to create prophecy'). But it seems unlikely that all prophetic utterance is conveyed by the angel. Thus I listed a lesser spirit - in Greek: Mantiens, taken from manteia 'to prophesy' -- which is different from 'to create prophecy.'
This subtlety is something I can only allude to, not fully explain. When the Bible says that the Archangel Gabriel told Mary that she would bear a son, the Son of the Most High - Gabriel created that prophecy from the Will of the Most High God (El Elyon). But much seemingly valid prophecy may well be conveyed by a lesser spirit, a spirit under the authority of Branches - Mantiens. When a human prophet utters that message it is essentially second hand - not necessarily any less valid.
All that, of course, via my own perceptions and personal revelations. \_😐_/
