Spent some time reading through it last night. Very interesting with the many angles, and nice that the author had no need to favor one option and then force it into place.

By way of allegory, Moses took everybody out of Egypt by cutting through the red tape -- all of the restrictions and regulatory bondage of Egypt. The light of the Torah was waiting on the other side.

Even at the last moment, the number of laws dropped from 15 to 10. 😉

Even the Egyptians have embodied the restorative light -- see their coat of arms for the place, where the Red Sea *is* literally, physically divided, so there's that. 😊

So Moses may have led the Children of Israel through the Red Tape rather than through the Red Sea?

Gregory of Tours in the 6th century thought that the tracks of Pharaoh's chariots could still be seen.
