TV news is almost never on in my house BUT yesterday for some inexplicable reason it was, perhaps to hear the weather forecast.

The news was about the Trump Organization being fined $1.6 million for tax fraud. The newsreader’s voice, filled with anger, intoned “The Trump Organization used inducements such as luxury cars, private school tuition, and Manhattan apartments to retain key company executives and avoid paying taxes....”

I was in the next room when I heard this and thought “Jeez, these sound like legitimate business expenses” and realized this case likely will be appealed and the truth of the matter will come out in time.

Oh, but the tone of the newsreader! It reminded me of Jan. 6th. Everyone who watched it on legacy media believes they watched an insurrection in progress. Those who didn’t believe they watched a peaceful group of Americans wander the halls of “The People’s House” on a lark.

I believe the reason for the split in public opinion is 1.) the individual’s disposition (I mean, if you’re watching CNN it’s a good bet you hate Trump) and 2.) the real-time commentary that accompanied the broadcast and the tone in which it was delivered. (Anderson Cooper was hilarious that day!)

What will come out is that the Trump Org did pay the taxes on the items so that the key executive wouldn’t have to.
It’s a legitimate business \incentive\.
