Absolute nonsense. There is not only reason its the easiest most obvious way to check how much covid-19 was responsible for the condition.

Comparing the vaccinated and the unvaccinated is a more obvious way to determine if vaccination or the virus is cause. Data from before COVID and the vaccines cannot do that.
