God Bless Ruth Reed and other Good Samaritans like her.

I've been blessed to directly help many in need, but of course, never unwittingly for one as famous as international star Keith Urban.

I once helped a beautiful Spanish Actress, famous in the Latin world, by doing some research on her late famous Cannes Film Festival award-winning Director father, and finding something incredible that helped her immensely. She flew from Madrid, and I from Seattle, met in Manhattan and became very close friends.

But I knew she was from a famous background, so it wasn't the same as what Ruth Reed did for Keith.

The problem with wanting to help people in need is, as Donald Trump says, "There's too many of them", this from him who has helped hundreds and hundreds, from anonymously paying off a mortgage, to freeing a veteran from a Mexican jail, Donald said his one fault is his "heart is too big", and "I can't help them all"; but this story about Ruth Reed should remind us all of the goodness of the American People, even those from humble backgrounds.

Great story.

I keep thinking about the dystopia of a possible future “social credit” score.

Imagine a few years from now that Keith had gotten on the bad side of the social engineers who have given him a negative social credit score—and that is why his credit card did not work.

This good samaritan lady has now become a criminal aiding and abetting an enemy of the state—and now her credit score is about to become zero as well.

While in college, I lived in a small apartment over a garage, in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles (on the edge of Hollywood). Running into 'celebrities' under casual circumstances, like that above, was not uncommon.

Of all the encounters I had all of them were very pleasant and the people were always polite. Never ran into one of those "jerk" types.

The writer managed to really stretch this tiny tale, it went on and on and on repetitively.

Big Time Scam in the Chicago area - A women usually with a Kid has a cart full of groceries - her Credit Card never works, the kid looks sad - some older person thinks they are helping out a family in need.

It is a great con - one women-kid team has already been spotted at six area Jewel stores.

There was an elderly woman who somehow squared in Trumps tower. Had li rd there quite awhile apparently. When trump found out, he met with her and gave her a room and food for life

He also was having g lunch by a beach one day, saw a young woman struggling in the water, and he ran out into the surf and saved her. Turns out she had mental problems, and her father lost track of her for a bit. And she wandered into ocean. The father was the one to tell the story and was deeply affected by Trumps kindness

Another time there was flooding down south somewhere and Trump spent his own money to deliver clean water to the folks by trucking in tractor trailers of bottled water

That is who Trump is- no fanfare when he helps others, just honest to goodness kindness

Biden on the other hand- there is just no comparison- he falls far short compared to the dececency of the Trumps

Hi Hostage, I hope you don’t mind but I found a shorter version of this sweet story. “Articles” written in that overly drawn out, repetitive fashion makes my ears itch :)

“”The New Jersey native woke up and headed to her local Wawa convenience store.””

I don’t even know what a Wawa is - have never seen one but WHO shops at a convenience store every morning? I wouldn’t know Keith Urban if he knocked on my door.

I was in line at our large supermarket a week ago and a gentleman at the checkout was having trouble locating his money - whether cash, credit card, checkbook or what, no one had any idea. We all watched as he went through every pocket in his shirt and in his pants and came up empty. He was looking for at least 10 minutes and even the clerk was raising her eyebrows and rolling her eyes at those of us in line.

I thought I could offer to pay his bill but I couldn’t see the amount of groceries he had as they were already bagged and no idea what his bill was.

The clerk called a manager over, whispered to her and then hit the checkout machine, tore off the receipt and told the gentlemen he was set to go. I was next in line and I couldn’t resist asking if the store WROTE OFF HIS BILL and she said, “yes”. He’d been looking for a GIFT CARD for that store...She then told me his bill was $187.00 - GULP! I felt generous but not that generous.

After I got checked out and out to my car, he was getting in a truck parked next to my car. There were at least 3 other people in that truck and no one was helping him load groceries into the truck.

I came away thinking it was good to know that the store I go to every week didn’t give him any trouble. Not naming the store for obvious reasons.

Keith Urban? Bah! Let me tell you about the time I met Keith Hernandez at a gas station. I was behind him in line at the cashier. His bill was $5.01 and he only had a five and a twenty. Well, I sprung into action and handed him a penny from the “leave a penny” tray. He was so grateful that he let me help him move later that day. Wasn’t a bad experience except that Roger McDowell came by and spit on us.

Oh, yeah. Nicole Kidman, Medford, Medford, Nicole Kidman, Nicole Kidman, Medford.

While living in North Carolina, I heard a good story about a clerk who was hired to work in a convenience store near Concord. The owner was a woman who lived near the Charlotte Motor Speedway and was a big NASCAR fan. She told the new clerk to never accept a check. “I don’t care if Jesus himself tries to use a check, you don’t take checks.”

One day a man comes in grabs a six pack and some candy. The guy fumbles in his pockets and can’t come up with enough money. The clerk immediately recognizes him, Richard Petty. He asks the clerk if he’ll take a check. “I’m sorry, no.” —You recognize me don’t you? “Yes, Mr. Petty, but the owner won’t allow me to take checks.”

When the clerk recounts the story to the owner, she berates him for not getting Richard Petty’s autograph on a check.

Reminds me of a story.

“Two ‘country hicks’ came to Harvard and wanted to talk with the president dressed in old clothes like straw hat and her dress looked like burlap. A haughty secretary resisted the couple and made them wait for hours.

In exasperation, she finally asked the president to see the visitors, which he did if for no other reason to get rid of them. The couple told him their son had attended Harvard for a year and he had loved it, but had been killed in an accident and they wanted to build a memorial to him. The president tried to discourage them, saying they couldn’t erect a memorial to every student who had died. The couple said they were thinking of donating for an entire building in their son’s honor.

The president, again, tried to discourage them by pointing out how much it would cost to erect a building and how much all of the buildings at Harvard were worth. So in the presence of the Harvard president, the lady stood and started leaving commenting to her husband, who she referred to as Leland, “if that was all it took to build a university, they ought to construct their own.” So…Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford went home to Palo Alto, California, and built a school in honor of their son … a memorial to a student that Harvard no longer cared about.”

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below.

She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!" "I am," replies the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me."

The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat." I am," replies the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."
