Just remembering that awful fiasco. Not a history major here but has any president ever in history handled something as poorly as this?

I think I read somewhere else the Taliban went from no Airforce to the worlds 6th most powerful overnight. Of course these airplanes may run out of spare parts etc in a few years but look at the rest… the machine guns the rifles. They will be used for decades, and very possibly many against us.

Even woke General Miley the next day in a press conference admitted Joe was lying, that he didn’t follow their advice on the withdrawal.

I don’t work for the DOD or a defense supplier, but I get the sense this equipment is viewed like paper plates at a picnic.

its paid for and considered used once, so just leave it in the trash when we go home. It has no value

Besides, with the controlled Pedo Peter in charge, there is lots more Fed.gov $$$ and printed money to buy even more for the next picnic we’ve got planned in Ukraine.

What shocks me is that the Zeepers expect a different result than what happened in Afghanistan. Those freaks are deluded.

we’ve been giving the Taliban arms since the 80’s and that war with Russia. The odd thing is all those womens studies and LGBT stuff the state dept was encouraging in Afghanistan is gone. And not a single peep about the calamity and horrors of gays and women in Afghanistan. Back to the Bacha Bazi boys and goats.
I wonder who was released from the jails and who is now in jail? Who is dead? Who has brand new weaponry and American money to enforce Taliban rule in Afghanistan? It’s as if that country doesn’t exist any more.

The marginally cro-magnum Taliban hasn’t the education or the discipline to keep any of that equipment functioning for very long. That being said throwing away our equipment and money is criminally and treasonously negligent.

Having all that stuff is bad enough. Using it effectively is another thing. The MGs and small arms I can see them using. Vehicles need fuel, maintenace, parts (they can scavenge a lot of that, granted), and skilled operators. Heavy weapons need stocks of ammunition, specialized equipment, and more people with skills to employ them.

I see them selling off anything they can’t put to use. Possibly for pennies on the dollar.

There is no awfulness in the multiverse that cannot be made more awful by Pelosi and her fellow sewer dwellers. There is no imaginable punishment that would be too severe for these vermin. These folks were made to be hated, reviled...and.....

We left so much equipment in Kuwait, that it is close to impossible to list all of it.

It’s always frustrating to read about the many ways the federal government wastes our money, from millions spent putting lizards on treadmills to thousands spent on art classes in Kenya.

These programs and all the other ones like them, are nothing but money laundering. Taking care of friends or institutions, who in turn take care of the person that arranged the cash.

It’s the Government Democrat way.

When you give stuff away, you have to replace it.

All by design so the defence contractors get new orders and the politicians get their rewards.

Old news by now.

I’m as sh*tty about how that all went down, as anyone. I deployed there in ‘02-03. Place is like Bedrock, only less civilized, except for Kabul and a few other places that catered to westerners and foreign aid workers.

But, this article is painting with a really broad brush. Admittedly, I didn’t read the whole thing but, did the author differentiate what was left/given to the Afghani’s versus what was actually US military equipment.

A member of the US military deploys with a weapon, they come home with one unless something happens to it.

And I do remember Pres Trump asking why certain gear wasn’t brought back home and he wasn’t satisfied with the standard “it’s more expensive to bring it home” response from DOD.

Everything Biden did and does is a reminder of what Trump warned everyone about what would happen and it did.

Rewards the stupid voters reaps.

Double proof midterm election

That slurping sound you hear is the thumb suckers at work.

Sickening. The government is awash in money, so much so taxpayers now fund our enemies. Incredible.

“...allegedly abandoned weaponry includes up to 358,530 assault rifles, 126,295 pistols...”

Okay for our mortal enemies to have these but not us.

The flipside is, an armed Afghani government might be inclined to bulwark against its neighbors on all sides; or given Putlim’s chemobrained dementia he might very well decide to restart the old war of Soviet occupation.

The first thing on which the Biden administration’s State Department Secretary Antony Blinken was focused and so very proudly made number one priority was being busy, busy putting homosexuality symbol rainbow flags on all the U.S. embassies around the world. The fiasco of the historically criminal way that same State Dept at the same time fled Afghanistan is a juxtaposition of perhaps the stupidest and most harmful to one’s country and its military arsenal and to innocents in Afghanistan and the world - orders ever given by a government. Blinken probably thinks the gay flag installation around the world was a smashing success for his office.
