ransomnote: The 6 minutes of the transcript shown below are key remarks by Colonel MacGregor. More of the transcript linked at the bottom. Full 25 minute video is here:

Douglas Macgregor - The Bottom Line

My summary of this excerpt: Chairman  of the U.S joints Chiefs of Staff,
General Mark Milley says the chances of the Ukraine winning 'are not high'.

Colonel MacGregor says Zelensky has been lying all along

and the MSM has reported what he says as truth.

MacGregor says the Ukraine is doomed: depleted of soldiers,
weapons, electricity, food, water etc. He says the Russians are
well-equipped and prepared for major offensives in
December and January. American and British contractors.

He says everything the Ukrainians have accused the Russians of
doing (war crimes) the Russians have not done, but instead the
Ukrainians themselves are committing these war crimes.

The US and other NATO nations have run out of military equipement/ammo to give them, and the US is now underprepared for conflict elsewhere.

TRANSCRIPT BEGINS

Colonel MacGregor (1:14 in the video): "Uh over the
last several months, in fact I would
argue virtually from the 24th of
February when the Russians first
intervened,  the tendency in the media has been to
repeat ad nauseam whatever the Ukrainian
government says and treat it as the
truth, and let's be frank, from the outset
uh they've been telling everyone well
the Ukrainians are winning, the Russians
are losing, the Russians are losing tens
of thousands of soldiers, they're losing
hundreds of tanks and critical equipment
and the Russians can't do anything right,
and the Russians are losing,

Well that
has never really been true. Virtually from
the beginning the
Russians went in with a fraction of the
force that they had available because
they assumed that we ultimately would
negotiate and be interested in arranging
a ceasefire and come into some sort of
agreement, because their principal
interest as you know, was always to have
a neutral Ukraine.

This didn't happen
and finally in the summer, uh I think the
uh the leadership in Moscow decided,
'We've we've got to change our approach.
We have no choice. We have to treat
Ukraine as a theater of war,"
and that's what they've done.
they've absolutely turned Ukraine into a
theater of war and they have changed
their approach 180 degrees from what it
was.

Ukrainians have been losing hundreds of
thousands of men as casualties we
estimate they've had 400 000 casualties
of which over 100 000 are dead.  Now, very
recently, Ursula Vandelion, who is the
president of the European Union
actually admitted that the Ukrainians
had lost at least a hundred thousand
dead. The truth is that over the last several
months, the losses have been so heavy
that we think it's probably closer now
to about 120 to 125 000.

And the second part of this, of course, is
that the Europeans, and we, to a large
extent, have run out of ammunition and
equipment to send to them.
We're now talking about building new
equipment that could be sent over and
stripping out whatever we can find from
many of our own units to the point where,
frankly, if we had to fight a war in
Central Europe we'd be in trouble. We're
down to days, maybe a couple of weeks of
ammunition.

The Russians have always been accused of
running out of rockets, running out of
missiles, running out of ammunition, and
nothing could be further from the truth.

They've been 'running out of tanks' and again,
nothing could be further from the
truth. The Russians now have set up a
very effective defense
while they build up for massive
offensive operations in December and
January and those are those buildups are almost
complete.

We can account now, as I
pointed out in the op-ed, for about 540
000 troops, 1500 tanks, uh another three
thousand plus  uh armored fighting vehicles,
hundreds of guns, a thousand rocket and
drone uh strike systems, uh hundreds of
 fixed-wing aircraft and
hundreds of helicopters.

The bottom line
is that the Russians are now going to
war and ukrainians are frankly on the ropes.

All of their sophisticated equipment,
their rocket artillery systems, what few
they have left, are operated now by
Americans and British contractors.
They don't have the trained personnel to
do anything.

So Ukraine is really in a lot of trouble
and that's why Zelensky is working very
very hard to convince everybody that we
should give our last full measure for
Ukraine, but it's not going to work and
Ukraine is going to be destroyed and as
we've seen from the new missile strikes
the energy grid is almost completely
gone, electricity is almost totally
absent, water, food all the amenities that
make life bearable are missing, and
billions of uUkrainians are now leaving
Ukraine because they cannot live where
they are.

We should really be interested in easing
the burden on the Ukrainians and that
burden will not be eased by supplying more
arms that the Russians will simply
destroy or capture. It will be eased by
negotiations in which
the West has to concede territory to
Russia and agree to a non-NATO status, in
other words, a neutral status
for Ukraine.

Nobody wants to do that, so
under the circumstances Ukraine is
doomed.

Well it's really depressing
that all of the things Ukrainians have
accused the Russians of doing, are things
the Ukrainians themselves have done.
Ukrainian soldiers have actively posted
a video of Russian prisoners of War
being executed. The Russians have not executed any
prisoners of war. quite the contrary they they've actually
behaved remarkably well, and Putin has
been absolutely insistent that they not
kill civilians.

The problem is that they they were so
careful in the past
and so anxious to avoid damaged
infrastructure that people thought they
were weak. Well that's now over. They
are willing to accept collateral damage
if they could destroy ammunition and
storage points fuel systems uh
and electricity they they will do that.

And that's what's happening right now,
and soon I think they'll move on to
transportation infrastructure, bridges,
roads these kinds of things to ensure
that the Ukrainians cannot resupply
themselves, and and right now they're
they're virtually at a standstill anyway.

They have no diesel. They have no fuel.
What fuel they have is going into
generators to heat buildings and homes.
So you know everybody's pledging more
and more and more but the truth is, David,
not much is arriving.
There just isn't much to send anymore,
so the the real point is, if anybody
cares about the Ukrainian people, if
people want to see Ukraine as a nation
state survive.
We we need to talk with the Russians and
no one seems to be willing to do that.

THIS PORTION OF TRANSCRIPT ENDS AT 7:37 in the 20 minute video

why are there so many Russian trolls on FR?

Good question. Another is why MacGregor has a cult of personality following here.

“who is the average American supposed to believe????”

None of them. We need to stay out of it. Not our fight. Not our problem.

The war will end soon enough and I don’t care which side wins. My money is on Russia. More money, resources, troops and equipment.

Ukraine has nothing left aside from what the west is providing and those stocks are almost depleted.

I believe it is game over for Ukraine.

I didn’t say any of what you’re spouting. I said MacGregor is totally unreliable.

What is it about doing well during an ongoing war being fought in your cities and countryside that would mean no more money or weapons are needed?
_______________________________________

BINGO! IT IS NOT A WAR BEING FOUGHT IN MYYYY CITIES AND COUNTRYSIDE.

For months I have heard: Putin’s done, Russia is done...On going war??

So, ansel12, tell me how long is long enough? Let’s see, Afghanistan was 20 years with 2,540 deaths and over 20,000 wounded—lots to show for that...Viet Nam, 7000 deaths over 8 years...

How much money is enough??

I have heard we are actually paying UKRAINIAN PENSIONS??!!??

So Russia is on it’s last leg, but we need to send more money continually as well as state-of-art equipment~~Patriot missiles, defense systems, etc. to this corrupt country...In what is openly being admitted to be a PROXY war with Russia.

Tally is at least $110B, and note Germany, NATO et. al. are not sending more money.

This is Biden’s distraction war. Empty strategic reserves, our treasury, our weapons armory.

Yet, we now have unfettered invasion of OUR border plus many hurting due to inflation.

Perhaps if Zelensky and Putin had been encouraged to sit down and negotiate in March, the Comedian-in-Chief drag dancer would not have needed to be flown here on AIRFORCE 2 to beg for money. He may be a pawn, but he allowed himself to get into a fight he could not finance...

Frankly, I don’t think my kids and their children should be financing this undeclared war with Russia in perpetuity.

You didn’t explain how a country fighting a war as it is being invaded would suddenly not need money or weapons in the middle of that war.

In the General/Chat forum, on a thread titled TRANSCRIPT of key remarks by Colonel MacGregor: Ukraine is depleted and doomed, is blaming Russia for war crimes Ukrainians commit, Russia is well-equipped and no longer holding back, Williams wrote:

OMG this reads like total propaganda.

Russia is winning even when it retreated and even when Russia itself admitted to reverses.

But loveable Russia didn’t really try because all they wanted was to negotiate.

But now they REALLY mean it this time.

He actually says Ukraine has always been losing and is all lies.

So tell me comrade MacGregor.

How the F after 10 months is Russia not sitting in Kiev and why weren’t they there 9 months ago?

Dear Drama Queen,

If you read the transcript, then you have the answer you seek.

If you're not going to read the transcript and yet plan to emote for us all your angst, count me out.

“Bull. Shit”

Im not picking on you, just using your comment as typical of the vitriol that is reflexively returned at any information that may indicate anything ukrainian military invincibility.

Neither you, nor MacGregor can know, conclusively, what the situation is. Ive seen MacGregor interviewed and he seems to have some justification for his opinions on the situation. Doesnt mean he is correct, but he could be.

The typical retorts that folks present (including yours) to refute a bad prognosis for ukraine military comes without the type of analysis and reasoning that MacGregor presents.

Attacking MacGregor personally doesnt really cut it. He has some street cred, like him or not.

So present some analysis. You cannot present fact, neither can MacGregor, but the tenor of your vitriol doesnt provide a good look.

Its not unreasonable to say that Russia has a larger military and therefore may press that advantage to defeat Ukraine (my summary of MacGregors commentary)

So any of you folks got anything that can be argued or debated? It appears not.

I believe (my own opinion) that the Ukrainian Military will be crushed sooner or later.

The real discussion that rational people should be having is “what happens then?”

I want to see fewer dead Ukrainians. Too few on here seem to hold the same appreciation for their lives.

So ya got anything other than vitriol?

Oh, but we were continually told Ukraine were winning...All we heard in past few months was “Russians running tail between their legs...Remember??? Ukes winning...Russians on the run.

If Ukraine needs money, maybe they should use THEIR OWN MONEY...Don’t have any? How about Zelensky’s wife ante up some of the $40,000+ Euros she spent in one hour during a PARIS SHOPPING SPREE this week. Or the Oligarchs who have fled...

Better idea...fly the white flag and surrender BEFORE WWIII BEGINS...

The thing is, all of the Neocon Supporters here know both the Ukraine situation (being pummeled daily), and the US situation (being out of weapons).

But, unfortunately, we all have to make a living, so, as the Twitter Files (and Stalin, for that matter) showed, people will do what is needed to put food on their table.

You try to sound reasonable.

If you’ve watched M over time and have heard his prior opinions and connections with Russia then you’d understand he is not reliable on this subject.

For example he wants Germany to betray NATO and join with Russia.

He was totally wrong about the Ukraine offensive, and no just saying well Russia will win in the end no matter what is not sufficient.

He accuses us of planning an attack on Russia and he always predicts we will be defeated

He also says we can’t afford to improve our military, so we need to give up

Claimed that our weapons can’t reach the Ukrainian front.

Some of these assertions are absurd and peg him as a pure propagandist.

Russia might win but not because of any analysis by DM.

Why is he wrong? What information do you have to support your opinion?
