Re: the temperature map
Pretty sure those are WIND CHILL “feels like” temperatures, not actual air temperatures.
Here in southern Wisconsin it is currently -9 degrees with 25mph winds resulting in about a -30 Wind Chill Factor. Snow ended by sunset today.
Having plowed the driveway once today (a quarter mile long country driveway), I will plow again tomorrow after the wind fills the driveway back in with blowing snow.
Winter of 2018 we had actual air temperatures in the -30 range. That was brutal cold.
This winter we’ve had -10 to -15 already, so the freak out on -9 by the local media is silly.
