I just produced a PowerPoint Chanukah card. It came out very cute. Now I'd like to send it to all my friends. I'd like it to automatically play when they click on the attachment, and not need mouse clicks to activate all the animations I put in. How do I do that? Thanks in advance, PP maven FReepers, and a happy Chanukah.
Honestly, you don’t. There’s a setting but Office is super paranoid and disables everything “automatic” on documents made from other computers. Unless they’ve gone into the deep setting and turned off protected mode (I’m assuming it’s a setting anyway) it won’t autoplay.
You’re fighting a compatibility issue, there is no flipbook standard, file type issue with most people. I would convert it to the much bigger video at 1040P and publish it on one of the many video streaming sharing sites. The video sites will take care of scaling and everything else on every platform.

Save the attachment as a .pps not a .ppt
NOW that’s been put to rest - maybe someone can tell me HOW to print address labels using Open Office...Everything I get from the program tells me how to do it from a DATA BASE...I just want to print my own name and address on labels.
I have a box of Avery labels so I know I’ve printed labels in the past when we had a home based business but it must have been from a different WORD program.
Driving me nuts going over and over it and I don’t want to have to BUY address labels. I have tons of labels in my husband’s name and he passed away a year and a half ago. I write donation checks with my name only to various organizations and still get labels in my husband’s name.
Any ideas or tell me to get lost??
File>New>Labels
All your friends have Microsoft Office?
That part is easy - got there SEVERAL TIMES - over and over and from there NADA!!!!
On the Word menu Click->Mailings->Envelopes. A dialog box appears where you can enter the delivery address and the envelope size. Fill it in and let 'er rip. (Set your printer's paper guides for the envelope.)
File new label put your address in the box pick your label format then new document
My email program Thunderbird will block automatically as there is a potential of viruses.
Wish I still had WORD....Good idea tho’. I could use the same program to do labels AND envelopes.. Glad I don’t want to do envelopes as I don’t see anything to do with envelopes on Open Office. As much as I dislike Bill Gates, hate to admit his WORD was a superior word processing program.
Thank you....
Could you copy/paste what you’re looking at..I don’t see NEW DOCUMENT...
I have FILE/NEW/LABELS/LABELS TAB and after that I’m scratching my head or screaming!
Thanks.
Sorry about my #10 post - I do see NEW DOCUMENT next but then?
Before I retired, IIRC, I saved as .pps. It would play automatically, and there was music. It was before 2008 (when I retired), and done in Office 2003. Don’t know about newer versions.
Is “Chanukah” compared to “Hanukkah the same as “Kyiv” compared to “Kiev”?
This will save the aggravation that Microsoft introduces for no reason what so ever!

Yup. All alliterations of the Hebrew .
That’s what I did. I used the “Record” facility in PowerPoint and recorded it. I then sent the file to Youtube and published it. It was the best way to see the animations and hear the sounds I incorporated into it, and then I simply had to send my friends the link to the Youtube video. Bingo!
It should have the document with the labels as long as you typed your address in the little box
