SLIDE: The station manager at our local radio station (NPR Affiliate) just called to ask if I would come back on the air in my old time slot and do my “Aloha Friday” island music program again. Meeting him this afternoon. Don’t really know what to think. This is the only broadcast radio station available here. I quit two years ago because of NPR News that preceded and followed me on the air. I have not even listened to it since.
I guess I’ll listen to what he has to say. Frankly, it’s a very juicy carrot he’s dangling. I very much enjoyed doing it and I miss it a lot. But...principles.
If it works out that the station offer is good, I would do it. We need voices on the air. Ask him if you can do a “Chuckster Chucks It” minute where you can get topical... and use your weekly minute to gently redpill.
Well, Lisa Mei Crowley says you should ditch your principles and go for the money!
Capitalism outweighs patriotism all day long.
wow, glad you’re feeling well enough to be up for it!
Take the job - and insert some hawiaiian phrases that mean “let’s go brandon”..they’ll never know, lol
🤞
If you miss it, go for it. Maybe the station manager has had the red pill. Maybe fans have been asking for you. Either way if you control your content, what a great thing!
Take it. I'll bet you can do some counterpoint to npr with certain song selection and innuendo.
