*texokie knocks lightly on the Qloset door, opens it, and comes in, knocks again lightly on the wall. A shovel falls over. She flinches….but no bruises*
Hemmingway? Are you here? It’s texokie. Will you talk with me?
*texokie holds her breath. It is so quiet.*
Please, Hemmingway? I need to talk with you.
*Quiet……then a faint rustle in the back of the Qloset could be detected. It gets a little louder. Then texokie sees a wondrous sight. It is a very small beautiful being - perfectly shaped mature face, with finely chiseled features. Pointy ears, which she was surprised to realize she had expected. Beautiful shoulder length silver hair. For all the distress and bruises he’d put her through, she was really surprised to see warmth, and a little twinkle in his eyes. His two and a half foot tall body was formed in perfect proportions, and dressed in a beautiful white jacket with gold trim. His trousers were black and he had on black boots. She was actually more at ease with him than she thought possible.*
Hello texokie. I’m Hemmingway, and I’m glad to finally meet you face to face. Why are you here?
Before we get to that, please, may I ask you why you have made things fall on me in the Qloset all this time?
Ahhhh that. Hmmmm. Well, you were really funny hopping around like you did! But that really isn’t why I did it. I was testing you.

Yes! There is something about you. Of course, the rest of the FreeQs who come here have qualities I admire and I like to be around them, but I found yours fun.

Yes. I knew you considered strongly and wanted so much to board up the Qloset. You could have…..but you didn’t. I like that. I’m glad you didn’t do that. You were willing to continue to be bruised even though you didn’t know why it was happening.

*Hemmingway blushed and modestly replied, *

Well, that’s correct. That’s all I know too. So I guess you DO read minds! I do need to ask for a favor for a Marine Brigadier General .

Oh dear. Hemmingway, I don’t know. I’m just to ask for your help. The Marine I know as Brigadier General Seymour said if you were amenable, he would explain.
Hmmmmmm. It appears the Elf Grapevine has been working overtime. Nevertheless, I’m inclined to grant it if I can.

PART FOUR
*Texokie calls to the General from the Qloset and tells him that she needs to introduce him to Hemmingway.*
Seymour, Hemmingway would like to meet you. Hemmingway, if you would, please come out into the Qommon Room so we can sit and visit about what the General has in mind.
*They each find and sit on a beanbag. Texokie makes the introductions, then excuses herself to go to the Qitchen. The tall general and small elf engage in small talk until texokie returns with a tray of more refreshments. *
Texokie, you must now be sworn to secrecy for what follows. You also must not tell anyone about Hemingway.
Do you so swear?
Yes, Seymour I solemnly so swear.
*Hemmingway addresses the General*
So, General, what is the problem that you think I can help you with? But first of all, is Q+ doing well?
Oh yes! I saw Q+ at a meeting several days ago. He is in good spirits, but as you know, he has a tremendous weight on his shoulders. He sent me here to consult and talk with you.
*texokie’s eyes got very big, but said nothing.*
Hemmingway, we understand that you have a very special ability to amplify energy so that it neutralizes bad intent and even at times, evil. We have heard rumors of a lock and key which you possess which amplifies even your own considerable talents. If so, we are hoping that you can help us at this time. We particularly need help with such things as facilitating the declass efforts. There is such opposition to that.
Also, we are aware that the Enemy is able to, in their own way, amplify the election fraud activities, especially being able to enter into the machines, and even other electronic media and manipulate them leaving only tiny traces. In addition, we believe that they are even able to implant evil ideas into the minds of those who hold the levers of power - as if they couldn’t do that for themselves. The crux and start of everything was “spy gate”. Q drop 3898 says that it WAS the key and actually will start to open ALL doors....if we can overcome that opposition to the information getting out. We think your work and device could help us in the opening of those doors.
Do you possess such a lock and key which can do what we have heard it can? Neutralize that evil intent and energy? Open those doors?
*Hemmingway sat in silence for some time looking at the floor pensively. His little feet were dangling and moving in a slow rhythm while he thought. He clears his throat*
General….may I call you Seymour?
*Seymour nods his assent*
Seymour, I once DID have such a lock and key. They are broken now. I used them a long time ago to avert a very dark outcome for the earth. With much prayer, and thanks to the God of us all, Who is the Source of all energy, the set I had was enough for the time to help mitigate things. But while they were fine instruments, they became exhausted and broke.
Oh dear. May I ask when you used them?
Yes, Seymour. I used them during WWII. Especially with the Manhattan Project, and any other major push which involved technology at the time for winning the war. Much was used in Normandy, on D Day, and of course in the final Pacific push. At the end of the war, the key and lock simply disintegrated. I did what I could without that instrumentation to amplify my efforts in the aftermath, but I was unable to forestall such things as Project Paperclip and similar pushes by the Enemy. I have been busy since then working with the other elves to mitigate what we could do for subsequent events. With Paperclip, and some other encroachments, we were at least able to get them documented, but just could not get them stopped, along with much of what followed.
*Hemmingway looked so forlorn. So did Seymour*
