There's also #8: No more of you funding woke companies. They ought to feel some economic hardship also.

I own about 6 Comupters.
4 are Linux/Windows dual boot.
One is windows only and one is Linux only.
I have a Computer science degree.
I’m fluent in Mac, but dislike the company and the expense
of their products.
I don’t like Windows because it is fundamentally
a piss poor operating system design. Plus the guy that stole DOS and made all that money is trying to kill off a good portion of Americans and the world. Name is Bill Gates
even his wife can’t trust him.
Linux is a challenge for most people because it can be complex.
But you CANNOT beat the price.
I’m a cheap guy.
SUDO.

And Open Source in just communism applied to software. Which explains why so much of it sucks.

I’ve been running Linux on my computers for 5 years. I retired the first one when it was physically broken, but it was 8 years old. It was a bit of a challenge to set this computer as a dual boot, but the instructions to do it were pretty clear.

I have four laptops running Linux. Two (Windows Vista originally) run Lubuntu, and two (Windows 7) run Ubuntu. Updates are easy and the Linux software comes packaged with Libre Office (like Microsoft Office), Thunderbird E-Mail, and Firefox for internet browsing. I installed Brave to replace Firefox. I have never had to drop to the command line to do anything.
If you have an old computer, install a version of Linux and play with it. It will breathe life into an old computer and cost you nothing.

Thank you for sharing that but one thing...
“Linux is a challenge for most people because it can be complex.”
While back, but not anymore... The average user will probably never need to touch the command line interface. Get the right Distro and it is all point an click GUI like windows.

These words are very welcome to see. I have been screaming for several years now that the “it’s complicated, it’s too techy” is now a total myth and just not true.

Some of them, yes. More have a fat libertarian streak in them. Hang out at SlashDot for examples.
The point is, regardless of how left they are, you using a copy of LibreOffice on CentOS gives them no money, not even advertising dollars.

MAME on Linux is excellent. I have really honed my "Mr. Do!'s Castle" skills, though I am still having trouble with the arcade version of "Looping".
