Collin Standon, 24, is living the dream after deciding to keep an entire litter of Golden Retriever puppies — in addition to the three dogs he already owned.
Standon, who lives in Texas, already was a pet parent to dogs Chloe and Sam — who later went on to have a litter of nine puppies — in addition to Chloe’s sister Emma. Later, he adopted Buddy from a shelter, so the golden retriever wouldn’t be put down.
Now, he has 13 fully grown dogs: Buddy, Chloe, Sam, Emma and the nine puppies, named Rocky, Moose, Raider, Cowboy, Pumpkin, Sunshine, Missy, Angel and Callie.

Yes. And “fur baby” is equally offensive to me. I hear that a lot.
My two Chows go through 20 lbs of meat each week, I spend a lot of time cooking bulk amounts of pork, chicken and turkey (and de-boning it). Fortunately, I just mostly eat what I cook for them, so it’s fairly efficient. Add to that grooming, exercise... I don’t see how anyone could handle more than maybe three or four unless they don’t work.
I hope you got another immediately. I’ve had two Chows that each lived to the same age, and boy it was rough losing them... When I lost the first one, I waited a whole year before i got another; that was really dumb in retrospect. To keep it short, I learned there were no good reasons for waiting... if you are a person who bonds close with your doggos, then don’t deprive yourself of a year of their company. When my second Chow passed (I almost lost my will to live, lord I loved her), I buried her and was making phone calls to get two new Chows an hour later.
Not if you just train them to go on the neighbor’s lawn.

One of the stupidest and most inbred breeds. As much as I LOVE dogs, GRs are among the stupidest and worst genetic breeds out there.

BINGO. So many idiots see their dogs as “furry children” or “fur babies.” No they are not. They are beasts. They are hunter killers. I LOVE my dogs, but I don’t trust them for a second around a child and know it only takes an instant for them to ignore their training and kill everything and anything in their sight.
“Stupid” comes to mind. But that term is not forceful enough for the dog owner in the article.
We miss our Aussie. lived 12.5 years and now we have 2 Aussies! Crazy times with 2. 4.5 months right now.

We have a 12-year-old female Rat Terrier who is afraid of storms, real or imagined. She’s currently sleeping in the footwell of my desk having a bad dream.
Also we have a 17-year-old cross-eyed female ginger Tabby that we adopted two years ago to save her from being put down. She loves to go to sleep on my arm when I’m sitting on the sofa. She only weighs five pounds but I’ve found a “gentle” dry cat food that she likes and can keep down. I tell her we’re fattening her up for Kwanzaa, but she’s not impressed.
This guy feeds raccoons. One day he ran out of hot dogs and all the police found were his shoes.....
