Tesla’s Semi will have a Tesla estimated range of 500 miles on a single charge, and that range can be achieved hauling a max payload of 82,000 lbs of freight (Tesla says federal regulations allow electric trucks to go 2,000 lbs above limit).
When just using the Semi without an attached trailer, Tesla says the Semi drives like a regular car, and is quite fast given its electric powertrain. "It looks like an elephant running around like cheetah,” Musk joked.

Say what you want. Tesla suffers from numerous massive recalls. They may make them but they all end up back in the shop and I can promise you I would never put one in my garage.
Speaking of that can you imagine what a Tesla Semi Battery fire would look like?
—”n a side note, I wonder how many union drivers there actually are. Good question.”
YES!
An interesting question.
Article from 10 years back:
Excluding government workers, unionized representation in all industries has fallen to a 60-year low. Only 6.6 percent of all private sector workers belong to a union. In trucking, about 2 percent of all 3.5 million truck drivers are unionized.
The bigger the battery - the less cargo it can haul. Another huge disadvantage. Inefficient fuel, inefficient cargo space, long recharge down time.
They are not real recalls. The are over the air software/firmware updates
Wouldn’t put it past them that or a lot of power lines go up in smoke
Got it. A vitrue-signaling, local TV news video EV fleet.
Yes less weight, but will a trailer full of potato chips be near that limit?
Tesla says the Semi has three times the power of a diesel truck, though with the efficiency of using less than 2 kWh of energy per mile.
The energy costs for a heavy 3-phase user are about one-third the residential user and the equipment uses LESS copper...
—”What is the re-charge time?”
Does not sound like you can do this at home with an extension cord.
“How long does it take to charge a Semi Tesla? Tesla, Inc. The company initially announced that the truck would have a 500-mile range on a full charge and with its new batteries it would be able to run for 400 miles (650 km) after an 80% charge in 30 minutes using a solar-powered “Tesla Megacharger” charging station.”

That said, if you believe it is all BS, sell Tsla short!
THERE ARE MANY THAT WENT THAT ROUTE...
GOT A HUNCH, BUY A BUNCH!
Nonsense, some are some aren’t. Just the other day 30,000 were physically recalled. 19 total this year.
Computerization has turned cars into junk in short order and Telsa is leading the pack.
Author of article is ignorant. Semi is limited to 80,000 lb GROSS weight. Most semis can carry a max payload 40,000 to 45,000 lb, depending on the model of truck and trailer.
Amazingly stupid idea to convert freight haulers to electric.

Almost all of them are software/firmware upgrades.
If Tesla's were phonically recalled as often as you claim, they wouldn't have close to 70% US market share in 2021, and be by far the biggest EV maker/seller on the planet with long waiting lists.
Just the other day 30,000 were physically recalled. 19 total this year.
Link?
And how many of them 19 ‘recalls’ you claim were actual physical recalls as opposed to software/firmware upgrades?
Computerization has turned cars into junk in short order and Telsa is leading the pack.
Normal nonsense from you as usual?
Tesla usually tops the reliability rankings or close to the top.
I drove for one of the biggest LTL companies in the country. Over 20k employees. Non union.
Nope.
82,000 lbs for EV semis.
Look it up.
Don't even bother trying to prove it. What, JD Power initial quality survey(lol). I've seen them and Tesla's only advantage is some bits of infrastructure. Coach building is not their forte. Ever seen a Tesla service vehicle? I have, Ford Vans. It seems GM is going to inherit the service work on Tesla. Nitch at best.
Imagine the fireball when the batteries ignite!
The roads will melt.
How long to charge the batteries vs filling up with low cost diesel?
Use to be low cost till the democrat party deliberately raised the price as batteries cannot compete.
I would normally say that free-market economics will sort this out. But, as we all know, concerning EVs (or anything deemed to be “green”) there is no free market. It’s all mandated now or will be mandated in the future.
Besides, what’s the problem? Consumers are already being gouged by high inflation. Will a bit more gouging via inceased shipping costs & longer delivery times even be noticed? /s
Do you know the difference between GROSS weight and PAYLOAD weight? The weight limit on US highways is 80,000 lbs GROSS weight for 18 wheelers. Gross weight includes truck, trailer, cargo, fuel, people.... everything.
This isn’t a game of semantics or gotcha. The article said 82,000 payload. The writer of the article is ignorant of US trucking terminology and weight restrictions.
If you could stop licking Elon Music’s feet for 5 seconds, you might be able to comprehend the elementary school level mistake you keep defending.
—”Don’t even bother trying to prove it.”
What kind of return are you getting on your TSLA shorts this year?
Reports of TSLA shorts grossing SIX BILLION $$$ this year.
Got a hunch, buy a bunch!
—”How long to charge the batteries vs filling up with low cost diesel?”
Where and how much are you paying for your “LOW-COST DIESEL”
And the how-long question is answered above.
