More than half of all House members, 230, have filed letters to vote by proxy today. Mbrs are only supposed to proxy vote if they are having an issue with COVID. Critics have blasted mbrs for abusing the proxy voting process when they are not dealing with COVID
Today’s vote on the omnibus spending bill may mark the last time House members are able to vote by proxy. House GOPers vow to end proxy voting when they take control next year. The House implemented proxy voting in the spring of ‘20 when the pandemic started.

A) GOP TX Rep Roy on omnibus bill: We had 18 Republicans who joined with Democrats in the Senate, get on their fancy planes and go home..What you see here on the floor of the House of Representatives, you make everybody ashamed.
B) Roy: They were more concerned about catching their flights for Christmas. Coming to me and saying, ‘we can’t be here over Christmas.’ Well, why the hell not?
C) Roy: The American people deserve us to be here over Christmas, actually fighting for them instead of trying to catch planes while half this body are going to vote by proxy. Have these bodies not even going to be here. And they’re lying.
D) Roy: They’re lying on forms saying that they’re voting by proxy for COVID and it’s a lie. And half this body’s going to do it.

GOP TX Rep Chip Roy with a feisty, boisterous speech on the floor against the omnibus. At the end of Roy’s speech, Rules Cmte Chair McGovern says “I want to remind members that the microphones are working.”
Talk is cheap.

The GOP sabotaged Trump while he was in office, then spent the past two years demonstrating why he was elected in the first place.

I’d love to see
@mattgaetz
on a reconstituted January 6th Committee that actually cares about getting to the truth!
Who is Ray Epps?
How many Feds were involved?
Who planted the bombs?
Why was the Capitol left unsecured?
& many more important questions!

I know…. I know…. But wouldn’t it be exhilarating to see our founding fathers walk into congress and slap the shit out of these fools.
In June, House Republicans Steve Scalise and Jim Banks questioned if Speaker Pelosi was involved in delaying National Guard assistance during the January 6 insurrection. New video footage, shown during Thursday’s January 6 Committee hearing, shows Rep. Scalise was in the room with a bipartisan group of lawmakers as Speaker Pelosi spoke on speaker phone with the Department of Defense asking for assistance during the attack. The Morning Joe panel discusses.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise, who publicly questioned whether the Democratic House leadership properly sought help during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, is now under fire after a videotape was released showing him at Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s side as she telephoned for military assistance.
I believe the video may be a farce, but why would Scalise give them more fodder?
YUM!
Thank you, Lysie!
I’m gonna say Merry Chistmas NOW!
It’s pretty wild high wind gust and rain!
Still warm at 59 so far!
Uh Oh!
Power is flickering!
My choice is McCarthy. I know that may not be a popular opinion here, but this is the Trump train, and I’m agreeing with Trump, and looking at it objectively.
Thanks. I agree with Roy 💯.
LOL
Merry Christmas exit!
Thanks for all you do!
