Apparently no ancient literary source mentions him (at least by the name which appears on the coins, Sponsianus). There seems to be some doubt as to whether his bid for power was in the 240s (reign of Philip the Arab) or the 260s (reign of Gallienus).
Communist Romania used to produce a car called the Dacia (a knock-off of a Fiat). I saw one on display at the 1986 World's Fair in Vancouver, BC.
