We dropped a ton of inert MK-56 fish from our P-3s off Kauai.
Those things are supposed to flood (water soluble plugs) and sink after the fuel is spent.

We shot off a dummy torpedo and it accidentally hit a Russian ship. They accidentally fired one back at us. It almost knocked me out of my rack

How does the Navy lose track of such a realistic training device? Oh right, the same way 2 combat ships ran into huge slow-moving cargo ships.
Not my Navy anymore (USN 75-87). I'm so glad I served when the Navy had its act together. I'm sure there are others on this board who feel the same way.
