My Jeep Cherokee is 23 yeas old and still going strong. It’s like a family pet. After a wash and wax - it looks brand new.

I wouldn’t hesitate to drive across the country in it and still see them around in good shape.

My wife just bought a 2009 Infiniti G37 convertible. What do you guys do for service? The manual recommends service every year or 7500 miles, whichever comes first.

I am on my 5th Jeep Grand Cherokee now. Present one a 2021 with all the bells and whistles on it for long road trips that I hope to do now that we are retired. I love it, and all the old Jeeps I had.
My daily ride is a 2004 Acura RL with 202K miles on it that is like an old flannel shirt.; dependable and comfortable. My other baby, The Blue Angel, is a 2000 Jaguar Vanden Plas that is a delight to cruise in.
Cant stand the newer cars that are stool pigeons for the Feds, and intrusive, too!

Some years ago I was told that M-B has poor assembly line reliability, so cars coming off the line are driven and fixed extensively.

IIRC, a big problem was complex over-engineering that leads to line mistakes.

I’ve owned M-B vehicles for over 40 years of my 59 years on this planet. I have loved them all and have kept most of them for 15-20 years. Two years ago I sold my last Benz and am 99% sure I will never own another one (unless it’s an old one). Mercedes Benz unfortunately is a reflection of Germany itself. Very smart and very stupid at the same time. Some things just don’t need to be made complicated. Leave it to M-B to put unnecessary computer controls on everything imaginable. Which is why they suck now. I’m happy with Honda / Toyota / Subaru now.

I didn’t leave Mercedes, they left me.

It was the big in-line 6cyl, and threw a connecting rod down thru the oil pan. I made it up the long hill, and pulled into a dr’s office parking lot, where it drained all remaining oil, and I waiting for a ride back home.

I was very surprised to learn recently that Mazda has discontinued sales of it’s very nice looking Mazda 6 sedan here in the US.
I had a loaded 2014 model, was a real nice car, the new ones looked great, especial in that reddish color.
Too bad...

“ Tesla, Chevrolet, GMC, Volkswagen, Jeep and Mercedes-Benz filled out the bottom of the list of 24 brands.”

Who the hello would be surprised by those being near the bottom?!? They are always bottom dwellers

I just change the oil once a year - fully synthetic and an actual OEM filter

My trusty 2004 V6 manual 5 speed Toyota Camry just clicked over 400,000km. Only major work has been new clutch, and new shocks. Best car I have ever owned in 40 years of driving.

I’m on my 3rd used Corolla. First two were hit and totalled. Last time by a deer. The current one is an ‘06 with 400K miles on it -and lots of deer whistles. I use ones of different tone and pitch. The deer usually run or glare at the car with a “W...T...F...?” look on their face. But never light-tranced -which is all I care about.
