There’s an ages-old problem with republics: majoritarian tyranny.
If the law is whatever the fifty percent plus one of the people or their reps determine, then the legislative body is little different in practice from the typical Florida Homeowners Association, and the nation should expect similar results. Thanks to the 17th Amendment, the Senate long ago abandoned its deliberative nature and adopted the passionate, popularly reflexive nature of the House. It is why party interests, rather than those of the nation, came to dominate congress. We see this regularly when Senator Schumer joins Speaker Pelosi in wild proposals that threaten liberty.

The “sucking wind” relates back to an old co-worker I had some 20 years ago. He was a field substation operator, and I was one of the dispatchers.
Anyway, at the start of the shift, when he called in, I’d ask how he was doing, and he’d always reply, “Still sucking wind”. Gus have a very dry sense of humor.
I keep giving DeSantis some room for some reason that I instinctively can not give to Pious Pence, for example.
DeSantis just strikes me as possible material for the perfect plant. I would hope he does not turn out to be a potted one, but of an infiltrater sort. Idk.
DeSantis is NAVY MIL. I think that is very interesting and that is why being hopeful about his position in events is hanging in there.
(Whereas, Pence simply ran with RINO operators for decades, but defined himself as pious and religious, so we wouldn’t notice so much.) His rise was dull and lengthy. No charisma. No energy. No combat with anyone, but for Trump.
DeSantis came out of nowhere, appeared in Congress, voted in congress weirdly, just often enough to present himself as a lure, and having a little charisma. He remains silent or testy about Trump, but holds independent strength and plenty of brains on display, as the governor of FL.
Like it or not, he is drawing RINO players and moguls right into the line of fire. 🤞

How are the unmasked, shotless invaders protected from catching COVID and spreading it far and wide throughout America as they are being sent to their designated locations? How come the invaders are immune and legal citizens of America are not? Such a puzzlement. NOT.

I challenged a pro-jab acquaintance on the inconsistency of Biden allowing illegals in unjabbed at the southern border and not allowing me in unjabbed at the northern border. I wanted to spend my hard-earned money in your country while the illegals were just takers. She retorted that all illegals being allowed in were given a phone AND covid shots before they were released to roam America. I asked her where she got that information and she said she read it, but couldn’t recall where. She did a mad search on her phone in front of me and seemed frustrated that she couldn’t find it.
I think the free phone part is true, which makes me think maybe the jabs part is also true, but I have no way to know for sure. Since a lot of the jabbed are catching covid anyway (mostly mildly), if the illegals were jabbed, it’s a safe bet that they’re catching and spreading covid too.
