Yes, your words on history are utterly flawed and in error.

Muscowy is more Mongol khaganate than Kievan Rus

Just three points. Zelensky didn’t outlaw all opposition parties.

He didn’t. There are three problems with your statement:

1. It wasn’t Zelensky. It was the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council. Ukraine is a democracy and its president does not act unilaterally on things like this.

2. They didn’t ban any parties. They suspended them from engaging in any political activities while the country is at war.

3. It wasn’t all opposition parties. It was parties that have supported Russia — the enemy. Most of them are very small with no representation in parliament. The largest has just under 10% of the seats in parliament (13% if you exclude Crimea’s seats which are currently vacant because it hasn’t been possible to hold elections due to the Russian occupation since 2014)

Next, about the nationalization.

1. Ukraine nationalized 5 companies that produce things needed for the military. Note that Ukraine has been invaded. JSC Motor Sich, PJSC Zaporizhtransformator, PJSC AvtoKrAZ, PJSC Ukrnafta and PJSC Ukrtatnafta

2. The corresponding industries in Russia have been nationalized since the start of Putin’s reign

3. Beyond that, Putin has brought the rest of Russian industry under his government’s thumb early in the 2000s, if not nationalized then under his oligarchs

Not jihadis like Putin has.

And we don’t claim the USA military to be Slavic Christian nationalists as you are falsely claiming Putin’s army is

Saw a bit of it. The question is what is Russia about? Your answer is to deflect to Ukraine. Ukraine has some fascists in it. How many and what is their place in the government is a separate question from whether or not Russia is fascistic. If they are both fascistic, supply the side you dislike the least with weapons and pass the popcorn. Russian fascists has aggressive territorial ambition. Ukrainians dislike Russians, and some have gone so far that they are fascists. I would say Poroshenko would be among those.

Zelensky, however, ran on a platform of peace with Donetsk and Russia, and rooting out corruption. It didn’t work out that way, but a majority of Ukrainians voted for him on that platform, and despite the fact that he’s nominally Jewish. Fascists would be prejudiced against him for that reason alone, as well as the call for peace with the Russian-speaking region that they hate, and the fact that his first language was Russian, and he made a fortune touring Russia with his comedy troop.

Ergo, don’t change the subject. Hear what the professor has to say about Russia, and deal with the complex question of Ukraine afterwards, rather than instead of, the question of Russia’s fascism or lack thereof.
