in order for Speaker to ascend to the presidency, they would have to be impeached and convicted and removed from office at the exact same time.
I’m not a lawyer, so don’t take my word for it, but I *THINK* that if one is removed from office, there would be some amount of time where the VP slot is left unfilled. It doesn’t get filled instantly. If whoever is President at that time is removed before the VP slot gets filled, then it would go to the SotH.
