He was a real nut with his “Vegamatic” sledgehammer.

'Twas The Sledge-O-Matic. A product from the Amazing Master Tool Company...a wholly owned subsidiary of FlyByNight Industries.

How come the Department of the Interior is in charge of all things outdoors?

Why are they called ‘buildings’ when they’re already built?

In 1982, Michigan State University built the $24 million Wharton Center for the Performing Arts.

One of the first acts to appear at the Great Hall of the Wharton Center was Gallagher.

He came on stage with a squirt gun filled with chocolate sauce. He proceeded to squirt it at the Proscenium Arch and said "They'll never get that off!"

Gallagher then proceeded to perform all of his most famous Sledge-o-matic gags, making a mess of the front rows of brand-new seats.

I always liked, “Remember. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and three rights make a left.”

I use that line on my sons often, and they look at me like I’m an idiot. So, I know the point will be remembered.

R. Lee Ermeu is gone. Gallagher is now gone. But the marchingg... er, rolling armies of watermelons just keep on advancing.

Thank you for correcting that. It has been years since I saw his show. He was an original, and he will be missed. I remember his comedy and entertainment warmly. May he rest in peace.
