I remember that price for gas... in 1971.

I had just graduated from high school and gotten a job in a machine shop. With one week’s paycheck I could pay the rent, buy food and put enough gas in the car to last until the next Friday. Living the American Dream at 18 years old.

Yep...1971. I had just graduated from high school and was on a camping trip with my best friend. Back road gas station.
