I sympathize with King Charles and his teddy bear. It’s a symbol of security, safety and warmth when feeling insecure, a form of stability throughout life. I still have my childhood panda bear (my mom must have been into stuffed panda bears over the traditional teddy bear) for which I’m grateful. I have always loved panda bears, especially my old stuffed childhood one.
Mine looks as ancient as it is, probably almost 70 years old now, faded looking, but still a source of great comfort when I look at my panda. Brings back good memories; panda has been my sidekick in my journey over the years. Wherever I went in life, panda was there too.
So Charles, I completely understand the comfort your teddy bear brings you, and it’s a good thing, not something that should have been presented by a publicity seeking author of a book about the King that he is about to spring on the public. The author is doing what he can to demean the new King, and that disgusts me.
I salute your panda bear!
Like you, Flaglady, I have a black and white stuffed panda with beautiful beads for eyes sitting in the corner of my bedroom. It's got a large white egret feather from my Florida beach tucked under an arm.
It's older than dirt......a relic from my childhood, and I'm happy to say that when it's seen by my visitors, they LOVE it, too...men and women alike !
The little critter probably brings back childhood memories for them, also....as it does for me !
