Thanksgiving Day service for members of the United States Army Air Corps, held in a church in Cransley, Northamptonshire, England, Thursday, November 23, 1944.

We all have things to be thankful for, especially these GIs, that might not have seen the next day, let alone next Thanksgiving.

We definitely all have things to be thankful for, among which I count Freerepublic and especially this TFT thread. Before Rush Limbaugh it was hard to realize that there were so many people who shared my conservative beliefs.

When the GIs were in that church in England in 1944, many had been away from home for years. I hope that they were able to get back to the USA for a long and happy life. Most have passed on to eternal life by now. I continue to be grateful for the sacrifices made by those who truly were part of the greatest generation.
