Wonder why they are banding deSantis’s name around, if they don’t have him in their pockets? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. You would think they would pick one of their own establishment types. If they don’t know that he’s one of them and they get him to run, it could turn out to be another Trump, but worse because they backed him. (Worse from their point of view)
I saw a phone call from Virginia Lt. Governor, completely turned on Trump.
The way I see it, the pollsters and media and politicians predicted a red wave, and when the wave wasn’t as big as they predicted they’re all blaming Trump. All he did was endorse candidates and have rallies to help them win.
I haven’t heard that he forced anyone to vote or campaign one way or the other, or interfered in any elections.

My comment to Benny:. It’s not a joke. It is an atrocity. It bothers me that Republican/conservatives so often say that outrageous, horrifying, illegal, disgusting, etc , behavior on the part of Dems is “a joke“ I never hear Democrats calling things they don’t like about Republicans a joke.

Perhaps they public calling for DeSantis is part of their pressure campaign. Putting his name out there and leading a ground swell of emotion and adulation may sway him, go to his head, etc.
I think it would be delicious if DeSantis and Trump were in cahoots, working to flush out the establishment and their filthy politics.
I like DeSantis, but if he challenged Trump, after what Trump did for him, and when he could easily wait 4 years, I would consider him a slimy political opportunist. And if I feel anything like Trump’s base, I sure wouldn’t show up at the polls for DeSantis.

Josh Hawley must know that there are many Republican senators who would rather be in the minority than have to work to pass MAGA legislation. In the minority, they are not responsible for anything but still have all of the perks that come with being a senator. These perks include having their close friends and family members get amazing jobs, get invited onto corporate boards etc. Congress has passed laws so that this is OK as long as it is not one’s spouse.
Regardless I do wish Josh Hawley would run for senate majority leader.
Because they don’t like DeSantis any more than they like Trump. They know this will cause infighting between the two, bring them both down at the same time. In my opinion, DeSantis needs to make public his intentions public ASAP, and Trump should wait until, and if, DeSantis does throw his hat into the ring before going after him.
