It became something of an anthem in the punk world and there are many covers of it.
They also have a funny screed against Jerry Brown called California Uber Alles and they dis Jane Fonda in a classic called Kill the Poor. They had a great way with satire. Jello Biafra, the lead singer, became a spoken word hit. Unfortunately the band had a major falling out as many do.
I saw them at the Keystone in Palo Alto with a very good band called Whipping Boy. The lead singer went on to found an art band called Ox Bow. Like Jello, he is also a very interesting character despite his politics.
LR: East Bay Ray, Jello Biafra, D.H. Peligro and Klaus Flouride.
I seem to remember that Peligro was listed on one of their albums as "Ted on Drums". LOL!
I got to see him at the Whiskey when he was heading the country punk band “Range War”. One of the few lead singers in the punk scene who could carry a tune. He had a background singing the blues.
There’s a first time for everything.
And a last.
He really did sing quite well.
correction: Bruce Slesinger was ‘Ted’ and replaced by D.H. Peligro after that first DK album.
It’s a thinker.
That would make him a Dead x2 Kennedy. Anybody see anyone on the grassy knoll this time?

The Rolling Stones - Mother’s Little Helper (What a Drag it is Getting Old).
Eugene was in Whipping Boy.
No.
“Ted” was their original drummer Bruce Slesinger.
Darren replaced him in 1981.
He had fine taste in drums. Can give him that.
Autopsy results. Fentanyl/heroin.
