I suspect their gimmick is to enhance the McRib in some way and re-introduce it in six months. Probably a new sauce idea.

I was privileged to eat a McRib last week.
Having been a McRib coinsurer for a long time, it is my opinion that the sauce on the current version is in fact different than always before. The sauce is still as messy as before but is different in taste and significantly better.
