Most are “literary song videos,” which are a different art form from music videos. They use lyrics of a song to tell a story that is interpreted in the context of a particular show. So think Frank Sinatra’s “I Did It My Way” in your head while you “see” Captain James Tiberius Kirk of Star Trek, and you’ll get the idea. I or husband have made over 900 of them since 1985.
The rest are major news events I recorded, or computer videos I made that are now part of computer history, or small vignettes of life done to music. Why watch an hour slide show when you can jam your memories into 3 minutes?
There’s over 50 playlists to help someone find something that would interest them. And the channel isn’t monetized. Ads are from the music or show producers.
We worked at IBM Research in NY, and my ancestors are from upper NY, so I’ve done extensive traveling in that area, which made your videos such a pleasure. I woke husband up at 2am to tell him about them!

Wow, I must be nerdier than I realized. Last night I watched six hours of the history of Malaysia and something about Yunnan in China, for no particular reasons.
I’ve done plenty of videos and music but never had the time to put it on youtube. I go there strictly to learn.
Anybody here doing vids about how to prep and paint concrete, or harness tidal energy cost-efficiently, let me know!

What excites me is that they’re from all over the world and the comments are in so many different languages. I use google to translate them and try to reply through google translate in their language and in English. Before this brave new world, I never dealt with people from other cultures and I’m absolutely thrilled with the conversations. Though I do admit that the lovely gentleman from one small, near eastern country discontinued our exchange when I didn’t respond appropriately to his financial difficulties.
