Non-woke Movies
Posted on 10/16/2022 7:20:13 PM PDT by neverevergiveup
I apologize for the Vanity upfront. That said, can we come up with a list of movies that don't lecture about climate, race, abortion 'rights', sexuality, intolerance, 'migrants' etc.? I fully realize there are lots of crucial issues facing all of us and that this is not that important, but when occasionally looking for at least an hour or two of escape it would be nice to not have to be assaulted by the left's agenda.

Quite a far cry from Lonesome Dove heh? Oh yeah, The Witness with Tommy Lee Jones was good. A great list here so far. Thanks to all. 👌

The vanity should include a date. How about 2020 and after. We all know the classics are not woke. So the discussion we are having is more specific.

In the movie True Romance Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken have one of the most politically incorrect scenes ive ever seen.
quite unwoke.

My bud produced that movie. He’s 5 studios beside ours. And it’s not “really” a conservative movie. It’s a pagan movie actually.

Duvall’s agent is good friends with mine, and I’ve met Bob a few times. He’s a patriotic American. He’s a Navy brat and goes to USO tours and visits military bases with his wife. he doesn’t like casting foreigners doing American roles nor going to foreign lands for American locations.

Some Like It Hot. Pre-2020. Two guys cross dressing. Goodbye Charlie. Womanizer playboy comes back as a woman, then a dog. Not flaming woke but Hollywood pushing in that direction. Both way before 2020. Disney even went to hell now.

I've got a shelf full of 40s, 50s, and 60s movies that don't lecture about the contrived issues of today. There are some exceptions. In The Heat Of The Night. To Kill A Mockingbird.
The flip side. "Harper" with Paul Newman where he calls a hood a "fish eyed faggot." I like Harper.

He saved Scout and her brothers life and the decision was made. The man fell on his knife, anything else would be like killing a mockingbird.
