What an idiot. That beautiful horse might have been killed. Hope it goes to some horse rescue place.

As for the idiot, jail seems right.

Hey, he wasn’t driving. The horse was driving. He was just a passenger.

See what I can do with my degree from Havard Law School that I found in a cracker jack box?

Not for DUI.
A person operates a motor vehicle upon a public street or highway while intoxicated.
Key element is the driver must be operating a motor vehicle.

I live in Whittier. We have a great police department here, I’m sure that the horse will be well taken care of.

Is he going to lose his license to drive a horse?

Or maybe have to use an insurance ignition key interlock ?

I gave a drunk guy a piggyback ride.

He got busted for DUI.

I think the DUI is pretty lame, too. It is overreach for the police. He must have broken plenty of laws riding where he was and ignoring police. Stick to what he actually did, which might include public drunkenness, but does not include operating a motor vehicle.

You can get a DUI on a bicycle. The Hollywood police department explained it to me.

I grew up in Whittier and now live in La Habra, which is next door. I was a member of the Whittier High School Marching Band with the current mayor of Whittier.

Happens in Bartow Florida and Pinellas Park all the time.

Just ask Grady Judd and Bob Gualtieri.

Florida is so much fun.

True. Not a “motor vehicle.”

The late Ray Bradbury didn’t drive and once got a ticket for being drunk and in charge of a bicycle.

Bicycles are considered motor vehicles for traffic purposes, at least here in NC. They have to obey traffic laws for speeding, stops, signals, etc. [And yes, speeding: think a 25mph zone and a long downhill...]

I do not see dui here: resisting arrest, maybe? public intoxication?

Would a dui put points on his insurance???
