People won’t say they want to defend against tyranny. I wonder why
I don’t know how many people have been asked the question why they’re buying a gun when they’re inside the gun store. So I’m not sure where they’re getting this information from; but tyrannical government would crack my top five.
The simplest and time proven reason for the typical law-abiding citizen to purchase and carry a gun for self protection is that cops are just too heavy to carry.
Out of control crime ?

Because it’s now legal to carry in more places. People were afraid of getting arrested, now after the recent ruling that fear has abated.

Gun sales are an excellent barometer of the political climate in America. Whenever we've got a traitorous SOB in the White House along with an equally treasonous Kongress, gun sales are through the roof. Americans absolutely do not trust the RAT party.
When we've got a patriot and an American in the White House (viz. POTUS Trump), gun sales slow to a halt.
No need to ask "why" the above. It's obvious.
Democrats:
1) Defund the Police
2) Turn our BLM/Klantifa thugs loose to riot
3) Open borders!
4) “bail reform” aka let the violent criminals out of jail
5) “Hey! Why is everybody buying guns? That’s just crazy!”
