The readings at Mass today were all about perseverance in faith.
In his homily, the priest honestly addressed that our numbers are reduced since Covid. Obviously some older folks died, or are still scared to come, but he also noted the younger generation has apparently given up. It is further tearing families apart.
He stressed that we must hang on to Christ and the Eucharist through the turmoil... and he is worried about the future (he’s from Poland). He’s seen this before.
How long until Justice, O Lord?
Prayers up for Holy Mother Church.
See FReepmail.
Did he mention the numbers of faithful that were driven away by the corruption and coverup associated with systematic homosexual abuse of boys and girls by members of the priesthood?
The Traditional Mass Readings are of the 1962 Missal, so today was Mt:22, the parable of the marriage guests who were invited but would not come, so the king sent out for pedestrians to come: homily stating that all are called to the heavenly beatific union, but few are chosen: who wear the nuptial robe of baptism and of the state of grace. The admonishment was coming for Eucharist with out the nuptial robe, without a state of grace. There is not ever priest comment outside of the traditional teaching on the reading.
We’re to overflow in four Sunday Masses, and daily Mass is increasing to two. I think except for the SSPX, from which FSSP came, I am in the only real Parish situation of Tradition left in all of Texas. We’re stuffed with young adults children and newborns, so the few of us who are not really stand out.
(blush).
Cardinal Mueller said Traditional Catholics may be resigned to the catacombs in the near future should Francis implement further his “hostile take-over” of the faith, [murmerings of 2023]. (EWTN)
