Just the latest breed to be demonized.
As German Shepherds, Dalmatians, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and others before them.
I’ve owned every one of these except Dalmatian and never had a problem.
Exceedingly unusual for the dog to be vicious if not abused or ill.
My latest PB died on me after only fourteen years, I just cannot bear to have to bury another dog so have turned down several offers of another PB ONLY for that reason.
I recall a Freeper some years ago who’s PB saved him from a bear attack, be sure to tell him how evil all PB’s are.
There is more to this story.
Comparing those dogs to pit bulls is, well, there is no comparison. The Rottweilers are close but not near as dangerous as the pit bull.
Too many stories of pit bulls that went off like a time bomb, just as happened in this situation.
The sad part is some people hang onto their fantasies until they turn into a nightmare’s... at some innocent child’s expense.
Poorly trained. The two year old was most likely not supervised and was taunting or terrorizing the dogs
I understand you love your dog, and my parents owned a pitbull who was also half lab, in my early 20s. Sweetest dog in the world, but I would never allow her near my child when he was born or after. I told my parents lock her up or we don’t come over.
They’ve been know to maul newborns just sleeping or laying on beds or swings. There’s not more to the story. They can be triggered anytime, and they were bred for fighting, or killing wildlife like deer, bear, or lions.
Wrong.
Upper middle class folks, nice home, etc.
Called their pits little lions.
Little girl was playing with a ball.
She was killed, then the baby was dragged off by the head while the mom was mauled by the other.
It’s that graphic enough for you?
Got enough info to determine the breed of peace is innocent and it’s the owner’s fault?
The more to this story is a dog bred for savagery is allowed to be owned without any oversight.
Pit bull owners should face jail time and huge financial fines for the losses others have to endure because of the crap breed.
Oh, you’re little baby didums won’t hurt a flea.
But they will go bat crazy at other dogs, little kid, people walking by innocently, etc.
I don’t give a rats ass about your pet owning experience when others including myself have thousands of encounters saying otherwise. Others have had to drag a pit or a pit mix and put rounds into their skulls after they went crazy for no damn reason.
If you precious pooch is so sweet, then you should have zero problems with heavy fines and regulations for dangerous breeds.
Sorry. Bad breed with mainly bad owners. Not you but a lot.
C’mon..Have you not seen the endless videos of pits attacking, injuring and killing people, other dogs etc?
Yep, and there’s never any details to these stories. Who raised the dogs? Did the family raise them from pups? Were they socialized?
I’ve had a Chow, the “one man dog” that protected some kids she hadn’t seen in years. Had a half pit for over 10 years that watched over all of us.
Had Great Pyrenees and they “never hurt humans” bite me in the neck. He’s dead now. Got him when he was allegedly 4 years old. Walked across the yard one time with a big stick and noticed he ran and hid. Someone beat him. Made him mean.
Sure there is. There always is when the story doesn’t suit someone.
I love dogs and have had many different
breeds in this 67 years of breathing.
The one and only breed I absolutely
refuse to own is a Pit Bull. They’re
bred for three reasons only. To fight,
to win, to kill.
Get yourself a red healer. Aussies got
it right with this dog. Best I’ve had
the pleasure to know.
“”I recall a Freeper some years ago who’s PB saved him from a bear attack, be sure to tell him how evil all PB’s are.””
If that is the story I’m thinking of the human saved the dog with a Buck knife, the dog didn’t do anything unique to breed but distract the bear by being attacked, which gave the freeper the chance to leap on the bear’s back and stab him to death.
Kanawa.
I saw one turn after 7 years in a loving home. Sudden jihad syndrome? I don’t know. This breed just seems to do that for some reason.
How touching. You and your PB can stay the hell away from my kids.
Read the news. Statistics can be tallied and then proper conclusions made. Pit bulls are killers.
Tell the dead how they must’ve just looked at the pit bulls wrong. Smh.
My wife’s nephew had beautiful dogs in a pen in his yard. Beautiful animals that everyone admired and kids petted.
One day a news man interviewed him and found the dogs were actually a wolf mix. Suddenly the neighbors went into a panic and he had to get rid of them.
Pit bull owners never have a problem until the day they have a "problem", meaning a child or woman mauled or dead. It's an inbred vulnerability of the breed that few owners have the discipline to constrain with relentless training, nutritional support, leashing, caging and fencing.
truth.
