Because most of those fires are related to accidents, not by getting wet.
So if 50 EVs had fires because they got wet, that’s worse
then the 420 plus ICE cars that caught fire, in excess of
that figure?
Actually reading the stats listed regarding the fires in
ICE cars, they referenced faulty fuel lines and other issues.
I’m sure accidents do fit in there also, but I believe
they have gone a long way toward making the gas tanks a
lot safer than they used to be.
ICE car fires have gone down from 450,000 in the 80s, to
175,000 now. That’s a very good improvement. Still...
