Judge his his 62nd.
Lol…great meme. Thx.
Braves Clinch the NL East.
Only an American League record. Barry Bonds holds the record in the Steroid League.
And, Yankee haters, choke on this: Number 5 on that list currently wears Yankee pinstripes. (drops mic)
So true.
“Braves Clinch the NL East.”
Mets. Ha.
Likely due to a number of games in which he played in the outfield and moved to DH later in the game, or vice versa.....
Base ball? Are they still playing that? Why, I haven’t followed it since the Scandal of 1919!
The extra games are mostly or solely for games where he played center field and right field.
They are supposed to recognize a player’s height when determining that player’s strike zone. Umpires being human, they tend to call more low strikes on Judge than they should. I suspect, but haven’t heard this directly, that he gets a break on some high strikes that aren’t called.
The Yankees are much better once they got rid of Joey Gallo.
The guy was a one man rally killer.
He is the Dodger’s problem now.
;-)
I wonder if Judge holds the non-vax record. Or if he was less affected by the vax because he got it later than most. Or if he was less affected because he is bigger than most.
Just looked it up. Joey Gallo’s career batting average is .199. Eight years. He was painful to watch as a Yankee.
“Congrats to Aaron Judge. But Roger Maris didn’t DH. He played every day.”
True, but how many pitchers did Maris face that pitched consistently over 90 mph?
Watching only 5 minutes of MLB ‘Highlights’ can tell you the ball is juiced...leaving yards on lame swings. Judge’s ‘record’ needs an asterisk.
This kid has the patience of a saint. He gets rung up on pitches at his ankles and inches out of the zone. If that happened in any other era with any other slugger, they would have gone ape-poop crazy a few times before the umps got the point. He’s 6’ 7” and all it will take is one stare down to make his point but he just walks to the dugout. IMO, that makes this accomplishment all the more impressive. That, and the fact that they have been pitching around him for three years.
Juiced ball...short fences...pitchers consistently hitting 90+...pitchers unable to reach 90 (ever)...expanded strike zone...batting lead-off (yesterday’s double-header Judge batted in front of Isiah Kiner-Falefa in the first game and Anthony Rizzo in the nightcap)...batting in front of Lou Gehrig (Lou Gehrig, for crying out loud...check out Gehrig’s stat line in 1927)...DH...extended travel (farthest Ruth had to travel was to St. Louis)...
Each era has its advantages/disadvantages. Still gotta hit the ball, and consistently to do what both men did.
Judge hit 62 home runs.
The second most HRs in the American League is 39 (Mike Trout).
The most HRs in the National League is Karl Schwarber’s 46.
Tell them the ball is juiced.
;-)
Barry Bonds holds the record in the Steroid League.”
I know all juiced up, but I always liked to watch Bonds at bat. He looked like some kind of armored knight with all the plastic he wore.
..and a millionair caught the ball. Was offered over 2 million for it. Turned it down.
