That was the absolute toughest piece of meat I ever tried to eat. First we fried some. Couldn’t eat it. Boiled some and made dumplings. Had to boil it one more time. We thot about keeping him as a guard bird but no one wanted to get up as early as he did.

Best thing to do with old roosters and hens, is to let them simmer, and make dog food.

Have to make sure no chicken bones are in the dog food.

Had a customer in Texas that would buy 2 whole chickens and ask us to put them through the meat grinder, bones and all.
Made dog food from it.
