Remember, our church is in an economically depressed urban area near Detroit.
packed grocery bags all day Saturday and opened the doors on Sunday afternoon.
1 bag per person; dry goods and prepacked fruit.
Cadillac Escalade drives in and 6 ladies step out.
They go in and receive a bag each.
I notice they were taking stock of the number of bags left.
They leave and then 4 return individually in cars.
I don’t begrudge their need not the real possibility they are shuttling those groceries to needy friends who can’t get out.
Optics matter.
