Let’s talk about the website that supposedly belongs to David Depape, the guy who attacked Paul Pelosi. It’s obviously fake.

It was hosted on wix, and has been taken down now. The Internet Archive crawled it for the first time just yesterday.

The domain was registered on 9/8/22, but it contains postings that pre-date that, though not by much, the earliest posts appear to be from August.

The categories cover pretty much every whacky conspiracy topic, and each category contains about 5-10 posts, which appear to be little more than a title graphic, a headline, and a small often nonsensical blurb.

Any post you click on goes to a page which says “Want to read more? Subscribe!” So there is really no content that anyone can see. And no one did, because each page says “0 views, 0 comments.”

It’s pretty much as fake-seeming as something that you would expect *was* actually fake. Even the domain name “http://frenlyfrens.com” seems planted.

There are all kinds of dumb mispellings, the writing that we can read seems only half-intelligible, but one thing he was *excellent* at was picking the art attached to each and every post. Even professional blogs and news sites aren’t that aesthetically conssitent.

So we’re to believe that this guy is some kind of right-wing maniac, who diligently posted all manner of conspiracy nut job stuff, but he put it all behind a paywall so no one could read it, and no one did or can.

But then this news event happens, and SURPRISE we found his crazy right-wing blog, and it just so happens to look scarily like what you’d think a right-wing nut job’s blog would look like.

Even though everything else about this guy suggests he wasn’t right-wing at all.

Amazing.

I’m sure wix has plenty of logs.

I’d like to see those IP addresses.
